I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with over 20 years in the medical field.  I currently practice full time as a solo provider in a rural setting but have experience in nearly every practice setting available to Nurse Anesthesiologists.  I have expertise in multiple areas of anesthesia for surgery including but not limited to:  neurology, general surgery, bariatric surgery, trauma, orthopedics, plastics, vascular, ENT, endoscopy, robotics, gynecological, and obstetrics (labor and delivery). CRNA's (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists also known as Nurse Anesthesiologists) are the primary provider for Anesthesia in the United States.  Estimates show that roughly 80% of all anesthetics are administered by CRNAs.  It is clear that CRNA's are a key provider when procedures or surgical intervention is utilized.  This places them at the forefront of patient care and patient safety and demands of them exceptional skills, decision making capabilities, and prioritization. It also requires of them acute attention to detail and standards that drive our evolving practice.  With more and more surgical procedures occurring in a population that is increasingly introducing new health risks not seen in previous generations - CRNAs are tasked with massive responsibility.  They are the highest caliber of advanced practice nursing, completing more than double the clinical requirements and credits for licensing.  It is in the interest of patient safety as well as practitioner protection that expert witness testimony be provided by those who intimately know this profession.
